Several members of the Premier Showmen 4-H Club were recognized for their outstanding project work during the Highland County Early Project Judging awards ceremony held on July 14 at Southern State Community College. 

Premier Showmen 4-H Club member Cole Lumen represented Highland County with outstanding success at the Ohio State Fair Poultry Judging and Avian Bowl contests held on July 11.

The Driving Authority, located west of Hillsboro, celebrated their grand opening with a ribbon cutting from the Highland County Chamber of Commerce.

The Southern Ohio Council of Governments (SOCOG), supporting the County Boards of Developmental Disabilities in Adams, Brown, Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Megis, Pickaway, Pike, Ross and Scioto counties, will hold its next board meeting on Thursday, Aug. 6.

The St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Society of Hillsboro announces the dates for its upcoming August outreach sessions.  

SATH (Supplementary Assistance to the Handicapped) will be once again sponsor the “Cutie Pie” and “Cutie Pet” contest during the Highland County Fair, Sept. 6-12. 

Members of the Premier Showmen 4-H Club's Cloverbud program participated in the Highland County Cloverbud Day Camp held at the Highland County Fairgrounds on July 10.

The Highlanders Sons of the American Revolution received two quilts to honor veterans, which will be auctioned off on Saturday, Aug. 1 at the Patriot Public House in Hillsboro. The auction will take place after the Revolutionary War Monument dedication at 1 p.m. Aug. 1 on the lawn of the Highland County Courthouse.

Premier Showmen 4-H Cloverbud members Jacob Mustard, Emmett Hamilton-Avedisian, and Everett Hamilton-Avedisian recently attended the Canter's Cave Cloverbud Overnight Camp, held June 27–28 in Jackson.

Members of the Premier Showmen 4-H Club recently spent an evening volunteering at KAMP Dovetail, where they helped create a fun-filled experience for campers by operating 25 different carnival games.

Premier Showmen 4-H Club member Wyatt Osborn has been selected to serve on the Ohio Beef Youth Council (OYBC) Leadership Team.
