The Highland County Fair is a busy time of year for many Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA members. While some are working hard in the show arena others have entered special interest projects in the Junior Fair. 

Highland County YMCA membership director Jennifer Waterman was the guest speaker at the September meeting of the Hillsboro Woman’s Club.

The Highland County Dog Pound has the following dogs available for adoption or rescue pulls as of Sept. 15, listed courtesy of the Friends of the Highland County Dog Pound.

Highland County Juvenile Court Judge Kevin L. Greer announced that a countywide curfew for all persons under the age of 18 will commence Oct. 1.

Carol Hottle will be at the Highland House Museum at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21 for a reading.

Fall Creek Friends Church invites the public to their Harvest Fest on Saturday, Oct. 4.

New Hope Baptist Church will be having a Men's and Women's Day Service at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21.

Hillsboro Peace Lutheran Church recently gave a donation of $150 to Altrusa of Highland County to help support the literacy projects in the club. 

The Highland County North Joint Fire and Ambulance District Board of Trustees' meeting will be held at 200 South St., Leesburg, at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16.

All steps lead to the new Teen Room on the second floor of the Wilmington Public Library (WPL), where most of the furnishings were bought with a contribution from the Friends of the Wilmington Public Library (FOL).

The Highland County Veterans Honor Guard and the Sons of the American Revolution Highlander Chapter will be placing a wreath at the corner of the Highland County Courthouse Friday, Sept. 19 at noon to honor POW MIA Day. 

Larry Moore, was a Best in Show winner from Friday's artistic design class, "Oklahoma."

During the Highland County Fair, Hillsboro FFA had a student exhibit her dogs at the fair. 

Sunday, Aug. 31 proved to be an exciting and memorable day at the Highland County Fair as three outstanding teens were selected to represent Highland County as the 2025 Fair Royalty.

Calico Children’s Theatre at the University of Cincinnati Clermont College has announced its slate of performances for the 2025 season.
