Never one to be unclear when it comes to the government and health care, one of the 10 practicing physicians in Congress well versed on both sides of this issue has strong feelings about his opposing colleagues on the government shutdown.

When it came to working in the fields, I had three favorite seasons. Soil preparation, especially plowing; hay-making and wheat harvest. I usually did not get to participate much in the fall harvest, for that was going on while I was in school.

My House Republican colleagues and I got our job done by passing my continuing resolution. Yet, my Democrat friends on the other side of the Rotunda continue to abandon the most basic duty of public service: keeping the government working for the people.

Unmatched sea power is essential to both objectives. Our freedom and way of life depend on it.

Grieve openly. In your own way and for as long as you need. Grieving is natural. Let yourself experience the pain as it comes and goes in your life. So that it can eventually go.

I used to be a chicken farmer, of sorts. Twenty-five feathered girls would rush to peck at the grain I scattered around my feet. I felt so loved and important. Black and orange, gray and brown, white and speckled, they were my adoring flock.

Back in 2016, I was one of the first people “canceled” for supporting President Trump. I donated $500 and sent a few tweets in support. Within hours, Democrat activists attacked me, my company, and my employees. Tens of thousands of hateful emails flooded in. A small army threatened to destroy my business, and I was viciously defamed. All over $500. That’s TDS.

Despite all the computing power, it is up to you as an individual to police to what you listen and watch. That includes (ahem!) this column. As a writer, I feel the burden of doing my very best to write material that is interesting, of good content, and perhaps, entertaining.  

As members of the Cabinet met at the White House to celebrate the beginning of the end of the war in Gaza, a product of the peace deal that Secretary of State Marco Rubio praised as “a historic moment in the history of our country,” the Senate prepared to vote. It was the seventh vote to reopen the federal government, and it failed, 54-45, along the same predictable lines as all the other attempts before it. All but three Democrats voted against the measure. Every Republican, except Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, supported it.

I am disappointed with the partisan political tactics that have led us to this impasse, as Senate Democrats continue to block a bipartisan resolution to keep federal departments and agencies open while providing extra time to complete the appropriations process.

Now it’s two years and two days. That’s how long it’s been since Arab terrorists stormed across the border into Israel, shooting every Jew they could find, raping women, incinerating children, and carrying human beings as if they were trophies back to Gaza to be greeted by cheering crowds.

Congressman Dave Taylor (OH-02) joined "The Tim Young Show" this week to call out the harmful effects that the Democrat-led government shutdown is having on southern Ohio communities. 

This shutdown didn’t need to happen, and it doesn’t need to last. All it takes is a handful of Democrats to put partisanship aside, join Republicans, and reopen the government. That’s the common-sense solution.

There are lots of things I don’t understand, like why trashing medical research isn’t a bigger deal, when I never heard anyone of any political stripe complain that they sure hated all the progress we were making in fighting disease; I thought cancer was everyone’s enemy.
