Michael “Mike” Dean Turner
Michael “Mike” Dean Turner, 44, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1981, in Dayton, the son of Jon Michael Turner and Mary (Kesler) Turner.
Michael dedicated much of his life to serving and protecting others. He proudly served with the Highland County Sheriff’s Department for 20 years as a deputy sheriff. He also spent five years serving the students of Lynchburg-Clay Schools as a School Resource Officer. Michael later worked as a manager for Croswell Bus.
He was a faithful member of Pricetown Church of Christ and Dodsonville Community Church. His faith and his love for his family were an important part of his life.
Michael was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, and loyal friend. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family, the friendships he made throughout his life, and the many lives he touched through his years of service to his community. Mike had a great deal of friends who meant so much to him, and among those especially close to him were Barry and Diane Custiss, Mike Gaines, Colt Scott, Chris Walter, Josh Michael and Hannah Rumpke. The time they shared, the memories they made, and the friendships they built were an important part of Mike’s life. He was a man who cared deeply for others and was always willing to help those around him.
Michael will be deeply missed by his loving family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many lives he touched throughout his life.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Turner; his children, Rylee Turner, Cole Turner, Calvin Turner and Katrina Turner; and his mother, Mary Turner.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jon Michael Turner.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. following visitation on Saturday at the funeral home. Daryl Mount will be officiating. Burial will follow services in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
