The youths of Hillsboro First Presbyterian Church recently celebrated Make a Difference Day by showing their appreciation for the local first responders who dedicate their time and service to keeping the community safe.

The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a three-vehicle fatal traffic crash that occurred on Liming Van Thompson Road near Yankeetown Road in Clark Township, Brown County.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio announced Oct. 21 that Murotech Ohio Corporation, an automotive component parts manufacturer with its principal place of business in St. Marys, Ohio, has agreed to pay $3,039,615, of which $1,085,577 is restitution, to resolve allegations under the False Claims Act (FCA) that it knowingly provided false information to obtain Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and loan forgiveness.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) is delivering approximately $594 million in farm safety net and conservation program payments to Ohio farmers, producers and landowners. USDA recently announced nationwide historic safety net assistance totaling $13.8 billion in gross payments through the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2025 crop year and an additional $1.8 billion in Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) annual payments for 2026.
