The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Industrial Compliance’s Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration announces that Ohio’s minimum wage will officially increase on Jan. 1, 2027. The adjusted amounts, $11.40 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.70 per hour for tipped employees, represents a 3.5% increase from the current 2026 rates of $11 for non-tipped employees and $5.50 for tipped employees.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman and Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer announced the arrest of a Huntington, W.Va. man and a South Point, Ohio woman on felony drug charges. The arrests followed an investigation by the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force in coordination with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
