Dr. Cathy Bishop vividly recalls the incredibly hot and humid day in the jungle of Peru and the beautiful and loving eyes of the 10-year-old girl she treated near there, not far from the Andes Mountains. The girl's grandmother had brought the youngster to a medical clinic near the Aguaytia River where Dr. Bishop and others were providing medical care.

Highland County farm and agricultural landowners are invited to attend an informational meeting to review the Current Agricultural Use Value soil type increases. The State of Ohio sets the land values in the CAUV program based on soil types rather than the market value of other real estate, which is set by the County Auditor. This meeting is being sponsored by the Highland County Farm Bureau.
Navy Seaman Apprentice Christopher T. Artmann, a 2006 graduate of Hillsboro High School, Hillsboro, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
