New Hope Baptist Church will be celebrating Men and Women’s Day Sunday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. The church is located at 128 East Beech Street in Hillsboro.
The Liberty Lions Club will be holding an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on Saturday, Oct. 14 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Hillsboro Global Methodist Church, 133 East Walnut Street.
The Hillsboro Indians cross-country teams traveled to Cedarville University on Sept. 16 to participate in the Cedarville Friendship Invitational, with the varsity girls placing second overall and the boys team finishing ninth. The Hillsboro Middle School boys team also earned a fifth-place finish.
During the week of the Highland County Fair, six members of the Hillsboro FFA competed in livestock judging. These members consisted of Blake Herdman, Corbin Winkle, Emma Yochum, Claire Winkle, Jacob Seaman and Cameron Burkard.
In a brief meeting with unusually low attendance from city officials, Hillsboro City Council members were limited to a few committee reports and the consideration of legislation Thursday, Sept. 14.

The Highland County Task Force, in conjunction with the Greenfield Police Department and the Hillsboro Police Department, arrested eight people this week in connection with indictments returned by a Highland County grand jury.
