Students taking fine arts courses at Southern State Community College have the opportunity to gain from the many scholarship opportunities offered through the SSCC Foundation, a tax-exempt organization founded in 1996.

Once upon a time … OK, this story of the 2010-11 McClain Tigers boys basketball team isn't going to start out like a fairy tale, for the simple fact their season didn't start out like one, either.

The mother-daughter team Candee and Katie Basford will be the featured guests for a Meet-the-Artists event 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, in the Learning Resources Center (LRC) on Southern State Community College’s South Campus, 12681 U.S. Route 62, near Sardinia. The event is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.

County commissioners from Adams, Brown, Clermont, Clinton, Fayette, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, and Vinton counties will meet on Feb. 25, 2011 at the Pump House Center for the Arts on North Mulberry Street in Chillicothe with area members of the Ohio General Assembly to discuss the state/county partnership and its ability to deliver vital services to the citizens of Ohio during a period of increasing responsibilities and limited resources.
