Week 3 was tough for both the Hillsboro Indians and McClain Tigers as each left their home field with losses, but the good thing about high school football is this is a new week and the score on the scoreboard entering this fourth week of the season is 0-0. 

On Tuesday night at Hillsboro High School, the Hillsboro soccer teams and the volleyball team earned Frontier Athletic Conference wins over the visiting Jackson Ironmen and Ironladies.

The Frontier Athletic Conference boys golf No. 5 event took place on Monday evening (Sept. 9) in Chillicothe.

Following several straight races in scorching summer weather, Hillsboro’s cross-country teams competed in the Zane Trace Invitational in cool weather Saturday, Sept. 7 and turned in several outstanding performances.

For the Portsmouth West Senators, an inadvertent whistle by the four-man officiating crew went to their liking. On the other side of the field, for the Hillsboro Indians, the same roaring sound from the official’s whistle ruined a big, momentum-changing moment that swayed what could have been a possible Indians lead to a continuation of a drive that resulted into a turnover on downs late in the fourth quarter. 

It was an exciting Week 2 for the Hillsboro Indians football team as they gained their first win of the 2024 season, defeating the Goshen Warriors, 32-7, and moving to 1-1 overall.
