A dedication ceremony for the Hillsboro tennis courts was held Thursday afternoon before the girls tennis match, and five seniors were honored as the Hillsboro Lady Indians hosted the Jackson Ironladies in Frontier Athletic Conference play.

Conference play begins for the Frontier Athletic Conference this Friday night, as for the first time this year teams from the FAC will square off for the next five weeks to determine who will become the inaugural conference champions.

The Hillsboro Lady Indians have added another conference championship to their trophy case, but this time — at least for one season — it is one of a kind, winning the inaugural Frontier Athletic Conference championship, taking home the title at the Franklin Valley Golf Course in Jackson.

Three touchdowns by Hillsboro running back Deon Burns and a grind-it-out style of rushing game by the Hillsboro offense, plus a stifling defense, pushed the Indians to their fourth win of the season Friday night, this time over the Clermont Northeastern Rockets.
