The Hillsboro Lady Indians have added another conference championship to their trophy case, but this time — at least for one season — it is one of a kind, winning the inaugural Frontier Athletic Conference championship, taking home the title at the Franklin Valley Golf Course in Jackson.
The conference played for the championship Saturday morning with the Lady Indians winning the event by 13 strokes with a score of 190. In second place were the McClain Lady Tigers at 203, giving Highland County the sweep of the FAC event.

In third was Miami Trace at 235 and in 4th place was Jackson with a score of 239. Conference members Washington and Chillicothe didn’t have a team score.
Hillsboro finished the FAC season with a perfect 9-0 record, followed by McClain at 6-3, Jackson 2-7 and Miami Trace 1-8.
Hillsboro also won the final South Central Ohio League championship last season.
Hillsboro junior Kristin Jamieson was the FAC Player of the Year, as she won the event on Saturday with a score of 34 and for the season earned a total score of 96 for the POY honors.
In all, there were seven players earning All-Conference honors, including Jamieson (HHS), Bryn Karnes (MHS), Emily Loudin (HHS), Kyleigh Phillips (JHS), Kendall Pollard (MHS), Elissa Grate (MHS) and Larkyn Parry (HHS).
For the Lady Indians in their winning effort, Jamieson led the way with a score of 34 and a season total of 96 in scoring that included a formula of points, Saturday’s score and match points. She was followed by Loudin placing third overall with an event score of 43 and an overall total of 88.
Also for the Lady Indians, Larkyn Parry finished with an event score of 59 and overall total of 67, while teammate Mallory Parsons scored a 59 on Saturday and built an overall total of 54. HHS also had Madi Stratton score a 58 in the event, while having an overall total of 51. Abby Myers also finished with an overall total of 51, with an event score of 57.
“We did not play as well as I would have liked, but it was good enough to get the job done,” HHS head coach David Hilliard said. “Our first goal for the season was to win the FAC, so check that one off the list.
“Kristin has not shot a nine-hole score in the 40s since the back nine of the first tournament of the year, and since then everything has been in the 30s, and that’s an impressive feat. Emily Loudin has now made first-team all-league all four years of high school — first three in the SCOL, this one in the FAC. Another amazing accomplishment.
“Larkyn Parry has continued to grow as she won the most improved award last year for our team and now has made first-team all-league. I’m very happy for her. We have great kids, and this has been a great season. Our next goal is to win the sectional tournament at the Pickaway Golf Course.”
McClain’s Karnes was second overall on the season with a final total of 89, while her event score at Jackson was a 45. Kendall Pollard scored a 52 for the event and a 73 for her overall total.
The Lady Tigers also had an event score of 56 by Elissa Grate and an overall score of 70. Also for MHS, Erika Martin scored a 50 in the event on Saturday and finished with an overall score of 66. McClain’s Bri Weller finished with a 57 on Saturday, and overall, she totaled a score of 57. Teammate Cassidy Willis also scored a 57 in the event and had an overall score of 38.
