The Fairfield Lady Lions defended their home court on Monday night by beginning the week with a win over a Highland County rival. Fairfield led for most of the match and didn’t lose a game, as they defeated the visiting McClain Lady Tigers in three consecutive games.

The Fairfield Lions boys cross-country team won the Cedarville Friendship Invitational on Saturday, winning against strong competition as a total of 33 schools competed in the event.

Fairfield senior Kami Magee was honored at the Lady Lions’ volleyball game Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Fairfield High School.

It took until there were just under 20 seconds remaining in the non-conference match on Thursday night, but the Fairfield Lady Lions pulled even with the visiting McClain Lady Tigers for a final score of 6-6, with the game ending in a tie.

For most of the 80 minutes on the field, the McClain Tigers and Fairfield Lions played a closely contested contest, but in the final 15 minutes of play, it was the visiting Tigers who were able to pull away and gain a three-goal victory at Fairfield High School, Thursday night.

The Fairfield boys soccer team lost to the West Union Dragons in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play on Wednesday by one goal at 1-0. The Lady Lions won over West Union, 7-5.

The Fairfield Lady Lions are off to an excellent start this season. After winning the Spike and Dig Tournament on Saturday, the momentum from the weekend continued on Monday night with the Lady Lions sweeping their conference match over the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors in three straight sets.
