Lady Lions defeat Paint Valley, fall to Eastern Brown

In their past two games, the Fairfield Lady Lions went 1-1, with a win over the Paint Valley Lady Bearcats Saturday afternoon, followed by a conference loss Monday night at Eastern Brown.
In the game Saturday — a 62-54 win at Paint Valley — the Lady Lions had three players score in double figures, including 19 points from Brianna Barnes, as she made nine two-point baskets and was 1-of-2 from the free-throw line.

Samara Cannon provided 13 points in the win with two two-point field goals and a 3-of-4 performance from the free-throw line. Emma Fouch followed with 10 points in the Lady Lions victory. She made two 3-pointers and two two-point field goals.
Molly Thackston was next in the scoring column with eight points, followed by Ella Newkirk with six points (one 3-pointer). Rounding out the scoring were Trinity Huff with four points and Lauren Arnold with two points.
Fairfield finished the game with 23 two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and they were 7-of-12 from the free-throw line.
The game saw the Lady Lions finish with a 17-point first quarter, followed by consecutive 12-point quarters in the second and third. In the fourth quarter, FHS had a 21-point scoring quarter.
On Monday, the Lady Lions lost a Southern Hills Athletic Conference game to the Eastern Brown Lady Warriors by a 48-32 score.
Next for the Lady Lions is an away game Thursday, Dec. 13 at Southeastern.
