Adena Warriors take down host Fairfield Lions

The Adena Warriors of the Scioto Valley Conference were just too much for the Fairfield Lions in the second half at Grandle Gymnasium, as the visitors defeated the Lions, 75-49.
AHS outscored the Lions, 38-25 in the second half, including a fourth quarter where the Lions scored nine points and the Warriors scored 22 points.

The first quarter was much better to the Lions as they led the Warriors, 14-12 after the first quarter, but a second frame where the Warriors outscored the Lions 25-10 saw the Warriors lead 37-24 at halftime.
Fairfield (1-1, 2-2) was led in scoring by Sam Buddelmeyer and Bryson Simmons with 17 points each. Simmons totaled four two-point baskets, three 3-pointers and was 0-for-1 from the free-throw line.
Buddelmeyer had seven two-point field goals and was 3-of-3 in free-throw shooting.
Other point totals for the Lions included six points by James Bentley, five points from Austin Setty and two points each by Ethan Saunders and Conner Priest.
The Lions finished with 16 two-point buckets, three 3-pointers and were 8-of-14 from the free-throw line.
Adena was led by Jarrett Garrison with 19 points, followed by Zach Fout and Logan Bennett with 16 points each. Preston Skyes also scored 11 points for the Warriors.
The Warriors totaled 20 two-point baskets, eight 3-pointers and were 11-of-20 from the free-throw line.
Next for Fairfield is an away game on Friday, Dec. 14 at Whiteoak in SHAC action.
