On the latest episode of "That '70s Homecoming" Friday night, Fairfield High School crowned its newest king and queen, and the varsity basketball team defeated Southern Hills League foe West Union, defending their home court 67-42 on a night about peace, flower-power and basketball.

The play of the game was an alley-oop dunk by Chris Cox with a pass from Cameron Rolark, but the most important part was the final score, with Fairfield defeating the Fayetteville Rockets, 63-47 Wednesday night at Fayetteville High School.

Fairfield senior Cameron Rolark set a new standard from beyond the arc, capping off a Hall of Fame day for the Fairfield Lions.

On the day where the inaugural Fairfield Athletic Hall of Fame class was inducted in a pregame ceremony, Rolark broke the school's 3-pointer record with 11 and came within two points of tying the school's single-game scoring record, finishing with 43 points. The Lions defeated the Adena Warriors 92-64 for a non-league win.

High School boys and girls basketball standings for the Southern Hills League and South Central Ohio League

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs broke their recent two-game slide Saturday afternoon with a 46-26 Southern Hills League win over Highland County rival Fairfield.

Friday night, in Leesburg, there were two victories to be had. The most important win will be saved for last. First, there was a basketball game to be played, and in that game the host Fairfield Lions came away victorious against their cross-county visitors, Lynchburg-Clay, 69-63.

Fairfield Lady Lions head coach Matt Hodson said his team played their best all-around game Thursday night against the Peebles Lady Indians. Though the improving Lady Lions played their best game of the year, PHS defended their home court with a 59-38 win over FHS.

The Fairfield Lions will be hosting a Coaches vs. Cancer game this Friday, Jan. 28 when they take on their league and county rival, the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs.

For the second time this season, the Hillsboro Lady Indians left the court with the winning score. On a day where Martin Luther King was celebrated, the Lady Indians gave everything they had to fend off the Fairfield Lady Lions for a 39-30 non-league, Highland County rivalry victory.
