Language is a powerful thing. In one sentence of his travel journal, Greg Lawson sums up a guiding principle of his life. He’s an American Sign Language interpreter as well as an ASL instructor at Southern State Community College. He regularly volunteers at a deaf camp and KAMP Dovetail, working one-on-one with deaf children. His life is children and language. And it’s about to be tested.

On Jan. 14-15, 12 members from the Lynchburg-Clay FFA Chapter traveled to Columbus for the 212 and 360 conferences.

Walmart recently awarded a $250 grant to the school for the purchase of science supplies for a unit on electricity, heat and matter.

The Bright Elementary School has received the Momentum Award for the 2016-17 school year. This award is presented by the State Board of Education and it recognizes schools for exceeding expectations in student growth for the year.

Connor Allemang earned his private pilot certificate on Jan. 19. Allemang, a resident of Sardinia, is enrolled in the Aviation Technology Program at the University of Cincinnati - Clermont College. The laboratory portion of the program is taught at the Clermont County Airport.
