On March 12, in partnership with the Highland County Workforce Development Program, seven students from Fairfield Middle School attended a trip to Olive Vinyl Products.
Olive Vinyl Products is a local manufacturing company that produces custom-made windows and doors for contractors.
The students in attendance were a part of Fairfield’s Project Based Learning Math Class, taught by Mrs. Kristina Stuckey. The students recently completed a project focused on windows utilizing linear equations.
To conclude their window project, the students and Mrs. Stuckey had the opportunity to tour Olive Vinyl Products, where their staff demonstrated the window making process from start to finish, to include the cutting of frames and even the placement of screens on the window.
Mrs. Stuckey’s class would like to publicly thank Olive Vinyl Products for the opportunity to see the correlation between what they are learning in the classroom and how the curriculum is transferred to an important career that they benefit from each and every day.
