The Buckskin Elementary School fifth grade intramural basketball players completed the 2011-12 season with the East Division winner defeating the West Division for the championship. A total of 18 teams played in the double-elimination 3-on-3 tournament.

St. Mary pupils enjoyed several special activities during Catholic Schools Week, including PJ Day, Camo Day and Nerd Day. In addition to an open house, the school also had a parent breakfast and grandparent lunch.

Fairfield Middle School held its annual Science Fair on Friday, Feb. 10. These students' projects qualified them for district competition which will be held Saturday, March 17 at Wilmington College.

SSCC Theatre proudly presents Moisés Kaufman's "The Laramie Project" playing March 2-4 in the Edward K. Daniels Auditorium on Southern State Community College's Central Campus, 100 Hobart Drive, Hillsboro. The Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 p.m., and the Sunday matinee will begin at 3:30 p.m.
