The Adams County Community Foundation Valley School District, recently announced a grant from the David Worley Memorial Fund to support the purchase of new choir risers for the Peebles High School music program.

The Rev. Leo Kuhn was the guest speaker at the Hillsboro Memorial Day observance on Monday, May 25, held at the Highland County Veterans Memorial outside the Highland County Courthouse. The U.S. Air Force veteran devoted his speech to the "Greatest Generation" – the men and women who served the nation during and after World War II.

The annual fundraiser for the Ohio Tobacco Museum drew a large crowd this spring, continuing strong support for preserving the region’s tobacco heritage while helping fund improvements and educational efforts at the museum.

The District 13-OH6 Lions Convention was held recently in Blue Ash. The Lynchburg Lions Club received several special awards in recognition of its community service and Lions promotion projects. 

The Lynchburg Lions Club recently donated a tree to the Lynchburg Branch of the Highland County District Library.  

Ohio State Rep. Mike Dovilla (R-Berea) commented on recent reports exposing widespread abuse of Ohio’s Medicaid system, in which some businesses have exploited loopholes to collect millions in taxpayer dollars without providing legitimate care.

Since 2015, McClain students have dispersed across Greenfield and beyond to serve the community. This annual event is called MHS Day, and this year’s is set to happen on Friday, May 8.

Highland Health Providers is proud to announce the opening of Leesburg Family Medicine – School-Based Health Center.

The Buford School Alumni Dinner will be held Saturday, May 23 at the Pricetown Church of Christ Fellowship Hall, 2070 S.R. 131, Hillsboro.

Rhythm was just one of the things showcased at Greenfield’s April 20 school board meeting. Other meeting components included a food service report, approved student trips, and employment.

At the April Lynchburg-Clay Schools Board of Education meeting, State Board of Education President Paul LaRue recognized the Elementary School staff for obtaining 4.5 stars on the State Report Card and being named Governors Science of Reading Champion based on reading literacy scores.

Greenfield Historical Society will have a special Sunday Dinner to benefit the Shiloh Baptist Church restoration.

Greenfield Elementary fifth-graders’ art will go up for auction on the school’s Facebook page this week with proceeds to benefit Shriners Children’s.
