A Zanesville man who ran a drug trafficking operation out of his house was sentenced to prison recently for his crimes.

Marker, Inc. and the Zanesville-Muskingum County Port Authority hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 30 for its speculative building project at National Road Business Park. The project will be supported by a $2 million JobsOhio Grant through the Ohio Site Inventory Program.

Forrest Lee Johnson, 51, of Zanesville pleaded guilty to rape and gross sexual imposition in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court this month, admitting his guilt in court Jan. 18.

William Arter of Zanesville recently appeared in front of Judge Mark Fleegle in the Muskingum County Common Pleas Court to plead guilty to telecommunications fraud, a felony of the third degree. Arter will serve 30 months in prison for his offense.

In July of this year, Jermaine Thorpe, 43, of Zanesville, appeared in the Muskingum County Common Pleas Court to plead guilty to numerous felonies from an Easter evening drive-by shooting. The Court accepted Thorpe’s plea and set the case for a sentencing hearing that would not occur.

A 26-year-old Zanesville woman pleaded guilty for a second time to charges related to her role in a Muskingum County-area drug-dealing conspiracy.

Cody Moody, a Zanesville man charged in the murder of Timothy Norris, also of Zanesville, was sentenced to life in prison recently in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court.
