  • Fairfield baseball ends season as district runners-up 

    The Fairfield Lions and South Webster Jeeps played even for two innings in a scoreless game, but the Jeeps scored three runs in the third, and as the innings ticked away, that ended up being enough to defeat the Lions in the Division IV SE District Finals, with Fairfield falling to South Webster by a 4-2 score.
  • South Webster man, 3 others sentenced for engaging in a child exploitation enterprise
    Kyle William Leishear, 43, of Bayonet Point, Fla., was sentenced May 10 to 20 years in prison. On April 25, Leishear’s three co-defendants were sentenced for their roles in a child exploitation enterprise: Christopher William Kuehner, 38, of Bremerton, Wash. was sentenced to 20 years in prison; Jacob Royce Mullins, 20, of South Webster, Ohio, was sentenced to seven years in prison; and Matthew Martin, 25, of Lancaster, Wis., was sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.
  • Fairfield falls to South Webster, 6-1
    The Fairfield Lady Lions traveled to Veterans Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe to face the South Webster Jeeps of the Southern Ohio Conference on Monday, and for the second consecutive game, Fairfield's offense failed to produce a timely hit when needed as the Lady Lions (4-3, 1-1 SHAC) fell to the South Webster Jeeps (5-1, 2-1 SOC I) by a score of 6-1.
