Lady Mustangs end regular season with 17th victory; defeat South Webster
On Saturday afternoon (Feb. 10), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs finished their regular-season schedule with a convincing 61-49 non-conference win on the road against the South Webster Lady Jeeps.
The Lady Mustangs were the higher scorers after the first quarter ended with a 16-5 lead, and they followed that with a 22-9 second frame, to take a 38-14 halftime lead.
In the second half, it was LCHS scoring 18 points, while SWHS scored 20 points, and the fourth quarter saw LCHS score five points, while South Webster added 20 points to their total.
In Lynchburg-Clay’s 12-point win, Jade Massey led all scorers with 21 points, making three 3-pointers and six two-point field goals.
Macy Etienne followed with 20 points, making six 3-pointers and one two-point basket.
Addison West totaled 14 points for the Lady Mustangs, finishing the game with four two-point baskets and two 3-pointers.
Allie Waits, Joslyn Rockey and Adilyn Carraher each scored two points for LCHS.
In all for the Lady Mustangs, they totaled 11 3-pointers, 13 two-point field goals and were 2-of-4 from the free-throw line, as Carraher made both free throws.
For SWHS, Addi Clayton totaled 19 points and Skylar Zimmerman finished with 18 points.
The Lady Jeeps totaled 11 two-point baskets, six 3-pointers and finished 9-of-14 from the free-throw line.
The win ends the LCHS regular season with an overall record of 17-5, while the Lady Jeeps end their regular season at 12-10.
LCHS is scheduled to play in the Division III SE District Sectional Finals on Saturday, Feb. 17 against Wheelersburg at Chillicothe High School with a scheduled 8 p.m. start.
