The Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated fourth annual Community Trunk-or-Treat event, scheduled to take place Wednesday, Oct. 23 from 5-7 p.m. This exciting event will be held at the Multi-Purpose Building at the Pike County Fairgrounds, located at 311 Mill Street, Piketon.

The Transitions Program of the Workforce & Business Development Program (W&B) at the Community Action Committee of Pike County (CAC) will be hosting a community event, “RISE ABOVE: An Event Celebrating Recovery in Pike County” on Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Pike County Fairgrounds (311 Mill Street, Piketon). This event will focus on uniting the community in celebrating the commitment of those who are continuing their sobriety from Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

The McClain boys varsity soccer team, under first-year coach John Gill, started the season off with a convincing 21-2 victory over visiting Piketon on McClain Field Friday night.

The McClain girls varsity soccer team started off the new season with an impressive 17-0 victory over the Piketon Lady Redstreaks Friday night on McClain Field.

The McClain Lady Tigers golf traveled to Big Beaver Creek Golf Club in Piketon for a tri-match with the Piketon and North Adams on Wednesday, Aug. 14 as Piketon won the team event.

The 2024 Division III postseason came to a close for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs on Thursday (May 9), as they lost to Meigs by an 11-1 score in a game played at LCHS, with the Lady Mustangs being the away team due to field conditions for Meigs. 

The McClain varsity softball team needed eight innings and a huge walk-off game-winning double by Brie Cummins to defeat a very talented Piketon team, 14-12 Thursday on Daryle Unger Field in Greenfield.

The McClain Tigers baseball team opened their 2024 season Saturday with a loss to the Adena Warriors, but came back on Monday and earned their first win of the season by defeating the Piketon Redstreaks at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe.

Ohio Attorney General David Yost, Pike County Sheriff Tracy Evans, Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman, Pike County Prosecutor Michael Davis, Scioto County Prosecutor Shane Tieman, Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer and New Boston Police Chief Carl Compton announced that on Thursday, Feb. 8, the Southern Ohio Organized and Major Crimes Task Force, Portsmouth Police SWAT, Pike County Sheriff’s Office and the Pike County Prosecutor’s Office served a search warrant at a residence on Waldron Hill Road in Piketon.

Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman announced Friday that three individuals have been arrested on drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop on Cook Road in Lucasville.
