The following area students were awarded honors for the Spring 2024 semester at Mercy College of Ohio.

Chosen from nearly 17,000 applicants, the National Honor Society (NHS) is awarding $2 million in scholarships to 600 NHS students. The program is supported by NHS’s parent organization, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, which also administers the National Association of Student Councils.

Bluffton University announced Thursday that Kenna Gregory of Sardinia has been named to the undergraduate dean’s list with distinction for the fall 2023 term.

Hannah Roush of Sardinia, a BS Nursing (RN-BSN Completion) student at Mercy College of Ohio, was awarded Dean’s List honors for the Fall 2023 semester. 

The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a serious injury traffic crash involving one vehicle. The crash occurred Jan. 11, 2024 at approximately 1 p.m. on state Route 743, near milepost 5, in Washington Township, Clermont County.

The Georgetown Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Tuesday, Nov. 28 at approximately 9 a.m. on state Route 32 at the intersection of Five-Points Mowrystown Road, Eagle Township, Brown County.

A Sardinia man convicted at trial of one count of gross sexual imposition has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Ava Hayslip of Sardinia has been named to the spring 2023 dean’s list at Muskingum University in New Concord.

A jury seated in Highland County Common Pleas Court returned a verdict Tuesday morning convicting a Sardinia man of gross sexual imposition.

A Sardinia woman was sentenced in U.S. District Court Monday to serve 28 months in prison for stealing more than $700,000 from the family-owned business for which she worked. She was also sentenced to pay restitution to the company.
