Sardinia man indicted on first-degree felony drug charges in Clinton County

By
Blanchester Police Department, Press Release

At a recent session of grand jury in the Clinton County Common Pleas Court, Aaron Reuss, 50, of Sardinia, was indicted on charges of aggravated possession of drugs, a felony of the first degree; aggravated trafficking in drugs, a felony of the first degree; failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a felony of the third degree; and possession of criminal tools, a felony of the fifth degree.

These charges stem from a pursuit that allegedly occurred just before 10 p.m. on Sept. 14. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Cherry Street inn Blanchester on a vehicle being driven by Reuss, who had a warrant for his arrest for felony drug charges out of Highland, Clermont and Brown counties. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Reuss allegedly fled at a high rate of speed down 133 South, into Warren and Clermont counties, with officers pursuing.

The truck crashed and rolled over into a bean field on Lucas Road in Clermont County. Reuss and a passenger were uninjured, and Reuss was taken into custody without further incident.

Reuss was held at the Clinton County Jail on a charge of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, a felony of the third degree. The additional felony charges are a result of evidence seized at the scene and additional investigation.

Officers were assisted on scene by the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Wayne Township Fire & Rescue, the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office and R&M Towing.
