Matt’s Take: India & Friedl duo; down on the farm; Ja’Marr Chase's father

When you think of the word “duo,” who comes to mind? Bert and Ernie? Michael and Scottie? Kobe and Shaq? Joe and Ja’Marr? Well, the Reds' duo of Jonathan India and TJ Friedl should quickly be coming to mind, as they are quite the 1-2 punch and they are the glue for this Reds' lineup through mid-May of the 2023 season.

Matt’s Take: Senzel's hot bat; NL Central standings; Bengals draft analysis

The past couple weeks for Nick Senzel have been thrilling, as he is finally seeing the results from all the hard work he has put in over the years. He recently was awarded the National League Player of the Week, and he has continued to be the “hot bat” in the lineup.

Matt’s Take – How about those Reds?; positives & negatives; Connor Overton joins Matt’s Take

While weather has caused two cancellations early on in the season, I have been more than pleased with the small sample size from the Reds through five games. As I am writing this, Cincinnati has played five games, and they currently sit at 3-2 before heading to Philadelphia for the first of 20 straight days with a game.

Matt’s Take – Nobody does Opening Day like Cincinnati; positives & negatives; Marty Brennaman joins Matt’s Take

Nobody does Opening Day like Cincinnati, and I was glad to be able to enjoy another trip down to Great American Ball Park to enjoy all of the pre-game events. Seeing the flood of red through the streets and listening to people talk Reds baseball again was a joy.
