The Fairfield Lions began their Division V SE District Tournament with a first-round win on Monday night by defeating the Portsmouth Clay Panthers by a 2-1 score at FHS.
Wednesday was a championship day for the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats, as they won a Division IV SE District Sectional Championship by defeating the Clay Lady Panthers, 7-4 at CHS in Portsmouth.
Thursday, Sept. 28 saw the Fairfield Lady Lions go on the road and defeat a Highland County counterpart, the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs, in three consecutive sets.
