    Well, the hot topic this week is the final quarter of the Hillsboro Indians and Waverly Tigers boys basketball sectional final at Southeastern High School on Friday night.

    On Friday and Saturday Hillsboro wrestlers took part in the district wrestling meet in Goshen. HHS scored a total of 29 points.
  • Goble to wrestle at state tournament
    Brendon Goble will be wrestling at a state tournament. On Feb. 20, the Greenfield Attack Wrestling Club competed in the OAC Junior High Districts at Thomas Worthington High School.

  • Freshman quarterback set to lead HHS in 1983
    There were a couple of new football coaches in the SCOL this season. Jim “Tate” Taylor had stepped down, at Hillsboro, and long-time assistant coach Jim Horne had been elevated to the head coaching position. Horne enjoyed a rather harmonious relationship with the athletes, as did his predecessor. But he would be faced with a challenge, as this year’s team would be led by a freshman quarterback, Chris Walker.

    The Fairfield Lions split their final two games of the regular season, defeating the Manchester Greyhounds Saturday night, 52-50 and falling to the Eastern Brown Warriors, 56-54.
