The McClain Tigers are looking to improve on their seven-win mark from one season ago, and to do that, they will have to replace pitching, but they return 11 players whom they rely heavily upon.

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs begin this season with a lofty goal in mind … winning their fourth consecutive conference championship, as they return six players from last season while welcoming in a youth movement which could produce the results to achieve their goal.

There is a youth movement on the Hillsboro baseball teams, and for that, this season for the Indians' ball club will be one of learning to play at the varsity level on the go.

Though the Fairfield Lions have no seniors this season on their baseball team, that really won't be a factor according to newly minted head coach Matt Garman, as he feels his junior class is more than up to the challenge of leading the Lions to wins this year.

Coming off a six-win season, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats know there are better days ahead, and they want those days to start this season as they are set to embark on a season where they want to compete for wins.

For the past two seasons, the McClain softball team has won the South Central Ohio League championship, including a 12-0 mark in league games last season. This season, however, with the loss of their entire infield to graduation, the Lady Tigers will have to step up their play with new faces to three-peat as champions in 2013.

This season is a fresh start for the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs on the softball diamond. With a new head coach, the Lady Mustangs have more expectations this season as they look to improve overall in 2013.

This season, the Hillsboro Lady Indians enter the softball season with some experience on their side, as seven players who have vast amounts of varsity time are set to begin their path toward improvement on the diamond.
