Wilmington Quakers freshman forward Parker Burke continues to put together an impressive 2024 campaign. He scored seven goals last week for 14 points and was named the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Player of the Week Monday for the second time this season and second time during his career.
The last time he was honored was on Sept. 9.
Burke (Xenia, Ohio/Legacy Christian Academy) had a historically good game against Franklin College on Wednesday. He scored five goals in just 41 minutes of action. This set an NCAA era record for the Quakers for goals in a game. They have been a member of the NCAA since 1991.
The last time a Quaker scored five goals in a game was in 1979 as a member of the NAIA, where Steve Spirk accomplished the feat in a 9-0 win over Earlham College.
Burke followed this up with another two goals in their 3-2 win at Wittenberg University Saturday, including the game winner in the 83rd minute of the contest. He is currently second in NCAA Division III in both points with 32 and goals with 14.
Wilmington will be back at home Saturday night for their OAC opener against the Heidelberg University Student Princes at 7 p.m.
