Setting a Whiteoak record for strikeouts, Wildcat freshman Gage Carraher set the tone for WHS. Gaining 18 strikeouts in a complete game effort, Carraher led WHS to a 7-2 Southern Hills League victory over the Manchester Greyhounds Thursday.

Lynchburg-Clay junior Ryan Doss joined an elite group Thursday as he tossed a no-hitter for the Mustangs in a 12-0 season opening win against the Ripley Blue Jays at LCHS.

Finally getting to take part in their season opening game on Thursday, the McClain Lady Tigers were plagued by errors as they lost to the East Clinton Lady Astros 5-4 at ECHS.

Breakdowns in the first inning by the Whiteoak Wildcats was too much to battle back from Wednesday at Paint Valley High School. With the bases loaded in the final inning, the Wildcats were unable to tie the game as they dropped their non-league game to the Bearcats 12-8.
