Hillsboro Lady Indians top Portsmouth West

For the second time this season in three games, the Hillsboro Lady Indians left the court with a victory, winning their second consecutive game by defeating the Portsmouth West Lady Senators 54-43 for a victory at HHS.
The Lady Indians (2-1) led at the conclusion of the first quarter after scoring 17 points, while their defense held PWHS to nine points. HHS was held to five points in the second quarter, while Portsmouth West scored five points for a halftime score of 22-18 in favor of the Lady Indians.
HHS outscored PWHS 13-9 in the third, and in the fourth quarter Hillsboro added 19 points to their final total, and the Lady Senators scored 16 points.
Ella Jordan led the way for Hillsboro with 19 points (two 3-pointers) while also adding five rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block to her final game totals. Jordan was also 5-of-7 from the free-throw line.
Tylee Davis scored 10 points for Hillsboro, tied for the game-high scoring for HHS (two 3-pointers), and she also collected a double-double with 10 rebounds. Davis tacked on five assists, four steals and a block in her final total.
Peighton Bledsoe scored 10 points for the Lady Indians (two 3-pointers). Bledsoe also had one rebound, two assists and two steals.
Kobie Miles scored nine points (one 3-pointer) with three rebounds, one assist and five steals. Miles was also 2-of-2 from the free-throw line.
Scoring two points each for Hillsboro were Kayla Seeling (one rebound), Dinah Ames (three rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks) and Annia Young (five rebounds, two steals, one block).
As a team, the final totals for Hillsboro were 13 two-point baskets, seven 3-pointers and they were 7-of-13 from the free-throw line.
HHS is scheduled to play again on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at home vs. the Chillicothe Lady Cavaliers in Frontier Athletic Conference action with JV starting at 5:30 p.m.
