With the 2025 softball season in the books, there was one last honor to be had for five players from Highland County, that being selections to the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association All-Ohio Team.
Four schools were represented from Highland County in the postseason honors, with two players named in Division IV and three players selected in Division VI.
There were two first-team selections made, with the Division IV first-team selection being Hillsboro senior Camryn Spruell, and in Division VI, the first-team selection was Jobey Hattan, a senior from Fairfield.
Named to the Division VI second team All-Ohio was Lynchburg-Clay junior Noel Barnhill. Highland County also had two honorable mention All-Ohio selections, those being McClain junior Brie Cummins in Division IV, and in Division VI, Fairfield junior Rilee Quickle.
Below is information on each All-Ohio selection from Highland County:
Camryn Spruell, Hillsboro, Senior, Div. IV First Team
Looking at the season of Spruell, the Hillsboro senior led the Lady Indians from the circle and at the plate all the way to the Division IV State Finals.
Spruell was a part of a Hillsboro team that not only increased their Frontier Athletic Conference win streak to 50 consecutive games, but she and her senior teammates never lost a FAC game in their four years of high school.
The HHS senior also was a big reason why the Lady Indians won their first district championship since 2002 (23 years), and HHS also won the regional championship for the first time in program and school history. HHS also won a state semifinal game where the winning pitcher was Spruell.
In 170 innings pitched, Spruell played in 27 games. She faced 680 batters and threw 2,794 pitches her senior season. Spruell finished the season at 23-4 overall, totaling 353 strikeouts in ’25. Spruell also was strong from the plate, as in 27 games she had 103 plate appearances (78 at-bats), finishing with a .449 batting average, a 1.448 OPS, a.563 on-base percentage and a .885 slugging percentage.
In her senior season, Spruell totaled 35 hits (19 singles, five doubles, four triples, seven home runs), 35 RBI, 38 runs, 21 walks and struck out just twice all season. She was also hit by a pitch twice, had two sacrifice flies and collected 12 stolen bases.

Jobey Hattan, Fairfield, Senior, Div. VI First Team
Fairfield senior Jobey Hattan ended her senior season with a first-team All-Ohio selection in Division VI, and for good reason. Hattan in ’25 played in 25 games, totaling 79 at-bats where she scored 38 runs while collecting 44 hits and 34 RBI.
Hattan ended the ’25 season with a .557 batting average, with 10 doubles, two triples and five home runs. The Fairfield senior captain also walked seven times, struck out only four times, had 19 stolen bases, and she also finished with four sacrifice flies.

In ’25, Barnhill pitched in 19 games, pitching 112.0 innings. The junior allowed 74 hits, 40 runs (17 earned) and 14 walks, as she went 11-6 from the circle this season. Barnhill finished with a 1.063 ERA.
From the plate during her junior season, Barnhill in 23 games had 71 at-bats where she scored 13 runs and had 27 hits, including five doubles, one triple and eight home runs. As a junior, Quickle pitched in 25 games, with 24 complete games where she pitched 146.1 innings. Quickle allowed 151 hits, but just 54 earned runs and 39 walks.
