Volleyball Report: Fairfield’s Stahlhut collects 500th assist in win

Fairfield’s Paisley Stahlhut collects 500th career assist; Lady Lions defeat Paint Valley
Another career milestone was set for Fairfield Lady Lions volleyball, with sophomore Paisley Stahlhut collecting her 500th career assist in Fairfield’s win over the Paint Valley Lady Bearcats in a four-set match at PVHS.
In the match, Stahlhut finished with 26 assists, while also adding one ace and four digs.
In the four-set win, Fairfield lost set one at 26-24, but won the next three sets at 25-22, 25-11, and 25-23.
Alyssa Bales totaled three aces and 14 digs for Fairfield, while teammate Addison Cannon collected two kills, two aces, one dig and one block.
Bailey Jones totaled two blocks for FHS in the win. Fairfield also had Jorja May collect six kills, two aces and nine digs. Ally Maynard finished with two aces and seven digs. The Lady Lions also had Remi Moon with 18 kills, two aces and 11 digs.

Lady Mustangs win in 3 sets against Blanchester
Being the host to the Blanchester Lady Wildcats on Monday (Sept. 29), the Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs gained a non-conference win by taking three consecutive sets against the visiting Lady Wildcats.
LCHS gained the win with scores of 25-16, 25-14 and 25-15.
On the court the Lady Mustangs had 30 kills, which saw Kylie O’Connor lead with 11, while teammate Halle Greene finished with eight. LCHS also had Bre Rosselott, Joslyn Rockey and Mattie Magee each total three kills, while having one kill each were Addy Carraher and Jules Vesey.
Lynchburg-Clay also had 12 aces, where Greene finished with eight, Ava McLaughlin had two, and with one each were Melany Stephenson and Vesey.
The Lady Mustangs also had four blocks with Magee totaling three and O’Connor with one.
Of the 36 digs collected by LCHS, 14 were made by Rockey, while having four each were McLaughlin, Avery Shope, and Greene. Stephenson finished with three digs, and with two were Carraher, Magee and O’Connor. Also with one dig was Vesey.
Lynchburg-Clay ended the match with 28 assists, led by McLaughlin with 15 and Carraher having 12, while O’Connor finished with one assist.

Lady ‘Cats fall to CNE
In a home non-conference match, the Whiteoak Lady Wildcats lost to the visiting Clermont Northeastern Lady Rockets in three sets.
Whiteoak lost the home match by scores of 25-14, 25-12 and 25-21.
The loss moves WHS to an overall record of 1-12 this season.

Fairfield sweeps Manchester in 3 sets
It was yet another winning effort by the Fairfield Lady Lions Thursday evening (Oct. 2) by defeating the host Manchester Lady Greyhounds in three consecutive sets in Southern Hills Athletic Conference play at MHS.
The SHAC victory consisted of a set-one win at 25-15 by the Lady Lions, followed by a win in set two at 25-22, then they ended the match with a third set win of 25-16.
For the match, Fairfield collected 19 kills, 19 assists, 13 aces, 57 digs, and two blocks.
The SHAC match saw Remi Moon collect 12 of Fairfield’s 19 kills, with Paisley Stahlhut finishing with three and teammate Jorja May totaling two, while Addison Cannon and Kaitlyn Eidenier each with one kill.
For the 19 assists collected by the Lady Lions, 14 were from Stahlhut, while the rest were made by Ally Maynard (two), Alyssa Bales (two) and Moon (one).
The aces leader was Bales with five, followed by Cannon (three), May (two), Maynard (two), and Moon (one).
In digs three Lady Lion players had double figues in the category with Moon collecting 17, Maynard with 14, and Bales with 11 digs. Also with digs were May (six), Stahlhut (four), Ayla Parker (three), Cannon (one), and Eidenier (one).
Fairfield also had two blocks from Cannon and Bailey Jones with one each.
The win moves Fairfield to 9-2 in the SHAC Division II standings (first place) and 14-5 overall this season.

Lady Mustangs gain 3-set win over visiting Peebles
Lynchburg-Clay added another win to their overall total on Thursday evening by defeating the visiting Peebles Lady Indians in three sets at LCHS in their Southern Hills Athletic Conference contest.
LCHS won their SHAC match with a dominant first set win at 25-4, followed with a set to victory at 25-20, and in set three they Lady Mustangs won the set at 25-16.
Lynchburg-Clay totaled 35 kills, 33 assists, 16 aces, 59 digs, and two block in their win over Peebles.
The Lady Mustangs were led in digs by Joslyn Rockey with 23, and next were Jules Vesey and Melany Stephenson with eight each. Hallie Greene totaled seven, Kylie O’Connor tousles six digs, and with three digs each were Avery Shope and Ava McLaughlin. Addy Carraher finished with one dig.
Greene led LCHS with 10 kills, while Bre Rosselott had eight, O’Connor totaled seven, and with five was Matalyn Magee. Also with kills were Addy Carraher (two), Stephenson (two), and Rockey (one).
The aces leader was Stephenson with seven, while Shope totaled five, O’Connor totaled toward with one ace each were Rockey and Vesey.
Leading in assists was McLaughlin with 21, while Carraher totaled 10, and with one each were Magee and Rockey.
The win improves Lynchburg-Clay’s overall record to 14-5 and their SHAC Division I record to 10-2 (second place).
