Tigers’ season ends at Zane Trace

The McClain Tigers boys soccer team had their 2024 season come to a close Wednesday, as they lost to the host Zane Trace Pioneers by a 9-2 score in the Division IV SE District Quarterfinals.

The Tigers entered the match as a No. 13 seed, and the Pioneers were a No. 4 seed.

Goals for MHS were scored by Creed Davis on a solo corner attack and Gustavo Simas on a free kick.

McClain this season finishes with an overall record of 3-14-1, as they were 0-8 in the Frontier Athletic Conference.

Seniors for MHS are Jordan Lugo, Rayden Daugherty, Nicholas Alvarez, Nathan Alvarez and Gustavo Simas.

Zane Trace will play again Oct. 21 in the district semifinals against the winner of South Point (No. 5 seed) and Wellston (No. 12 seed) in Jackson at 8 p.m.
