McClain Tigers battle to two-point loss at Zane Trace

The McClain Tigers battled tough as the regular season continued to wind down Friday night (Feb. 9), as they lost by just two points against the host Zane Trace Pioneers, 35-33 at ZTHS. 

McClain was led on the scoreboard by Michael Noszka Jr. with the freshman scoring 11 points, as he made three 3-pointers and one two-point basket. 

Jordan Bell was next with nine points, making three 3-pointers, and Andrew Potts finished with eight points off four two-point baskets. 

Owen Sykes totaled three points for McClain, and Seth Weller finished with two points. 

For Zane Trace, their leading scorers included Gunner McCullough with 12 points and Landen Jarrell with eight points.

On Saturday, McClain lost to Chillicothe at home in Frontier Athletic Conference play in their regular-season finale, sending them a 5-17 overall record. 

MHS is scheduled to play again in the Division II SE District Sectional Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 17 at Gallia Academy with a 2 p.m. start.
