The March 2026 Hillsboro Garden Club meeting was called to order by Secretary Jennifer West acting as President for Lynn Luman until her arrival later at the meeting. 

The next Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 fish fry will be 4:30-7 p.m. April 4 at the Post on West Main Street behind Dairy Queen.

Altrusa of Highland County is partnering with Rent 2 Own on Saturday, March 28 by giving tickets to the first children who attend the Easter bunny event at Rent 2 Own. 

Jacob Knisley/Nicely/Kneisley was born in 1748 Woodstock, Shenandoah Co., Virginia. It is thought his parents were Anthony II and Anna Barbara (Doerr) Knisley.

Premier Showmen 4-H Club teamed up with Sweat and Sparkle Gym to celebrate Highland County 4-H Week. This week highlights the importance of 4-H in the lives of many youth throughout Highland County.

John Beard lived in Westmoreland County, Pa. during the Revolutionary War. He enlisted in 1781 at Westmoreland. He was a private with Captain Wallace's Pa. Company of Militia at Wallace Fort. 

The Highland Harvesters 4-H Club have elected a new officer team for 2026.
