While Jehovah’s Witnesses have chosen to temporarily suspend their door-to-door ministry due to the pandemic, their activity was almost permanently banned by one U.S. village in the late 1990s — that is until the United States Supreme Court stepped in with a historic 8-1 decision on June 17, 2002, declaring the local ordinance unconstitutional.

The winner of the 2022 Dayton Hamvention Club of the Year was Highland County’s Highland Amateur Radio Association. Accepting the award at the awards ceremony, Club President Pat Hagen commented about this being the first time the award has been awarded to a club serving a smaller populated, rural, Appalachian area of the nation that’s “in the middle of nowhere.”

The District 13-OH6 Lions Convention was held recently in Chillicothe, where the Lynchburg Lions Club received several special awards in recognition of its community service and Lions promotion projects.
