On this anniversary of the Tea Party, as we begin the 250th celebration of the American Revolution, we ought to begin, once again, to think seriously about what it means to live in a democratic republic, and how we might sustain it for another 250 years.

I am writing to express our sincere gratitude to First State Bank for their incredibly generous donation in support of the digital sign project at Whiteoak Junior High/High School. 

In yet another attack on consumer rights, the Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed an aggressive de facto mandate for two-thirds of all new vehicles to be electric in less than 10 years. This ban on the sale of gasoline-powered cars and the mandate for the sale of EVs is just another part of Biden’s radical Green New Deal agenda.

I’m happy to say Sen. Eric Schmitt introduced a companion to my bill in the U.S. Senate. As elected representatives, we owe the American people sound decision-making, especially when it comes to spending. There should be a reasonable return on investment, whether it’s supporting our farmers or protecting our allies.

Calvin Coolidge was not an ideologue, but rather believed in a conservative philosophy. In other words, he did not worship at the altar of free markets. Coolidge understood that it was important to place the good of the nation above ideology. Today’s Republican Party can learn a lesson from Coolidge.

DEI, we hardly knew ye. DEI is one of the fastest liberal concepts to come and go in nearly the same breath. Living in the bucolic lands of Highland County, you may never have had to encounter DEI. Lucky you.

Standing on the cliff at Pointe du Hoc 60 years after D-Day, I encountered a German tourist at the same spot. He stepped aside in deference to me, an obvious American, and instructed his family to do the same. 

Because of the Biden Administration’s open border policies, we have seen record influxes of migrants, illegal and dangerous drugs and bad actors across the southern border. In fact, last week the highest total migrant encounters for a single day ever was recorded at more than 12,000. 

Although today we can find little to argue with in such beautiful – and familiar – language, at the time of its framing, and immediately after, the Preamble was the subject of much debate, all intimately tied to the deliberations that resulted in the Bill of Rights.

Christmas is not only the celebration of God's Love for all humans, but a command to humans to love all humans like He did.
