A tribute to Officer Andy Lansing

To the editor:

A very emotional funeral procession happened today at 2 p.m. on state Route 104, as Correction Officer Andy Lansing's remains were escorted north from Chillicothe past the two prisons. 

The procession was honored at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution, the Ross Correctional Institution, the Veterans' Affairs complex, and circled back past the Unioto Schools complex. 

It was nice to see law enforcement, correctional agencies and citizens from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana, plus Fire/EMS agencies too, in line with their support during the final salute. 

Thank you to all who participated in this solemn gesture and for the respectful last call. The men and women at Ross Correctional Institution and Andy Lansing's family and friends need to be in our prayers.
