John Willard Thompson, 69, of Springboro, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2024. 

The son of the late Garland and Martha (Beekman) Thompson, John was born in Troy, Ohio, on Dec. 27, 1954.

John’s fondest childhood memories were of the years he spent on his family’s farm in southern Ohio. His love of farm equipment, farm animals and farmers continued into his adult life. John was a steadfast man who was committed to his family and Christian faith – a faith that compelled him to engage with current events from both a political and biblical perspective. He was a devoted husband, kind and loyal friend, and loving father and grandfather.

John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Monica; a son, Michael, and daughter-in-law Leslie; a granddaughter, Alice; a brother, James; and a niece, Elaine.


Visitation is noon Saturday, Sept 28 followed by services at 1 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 North Main Street, Springboro, Ohio 45066.
