Highland County Recorder Chad McConnaughey was sworn in for his fourth term in office Thursday, Dec. 19.
The ceremony was held in the Highland County Juvenile/Probate Courtroom, with Judge Kevin Greer administering the oath of office. As noted by McConnaughey, Greer has presided over all four swearing-in ceremonies during his tenure as recorder.
McConnaughey was accompanied by his wife, Becky — who took photos — and his Chief Deputy Emily Jackson and Deputy Emily Barr, who held McConnaughey’s personal Bible. The recorder said the Bible was given to him by his parents on the day of his high school graduation.
McConnaughey’s next four-year term in office officially begins in January.
“I look forward to continuing to serve the Citizens of Highland County as recorder,” McConnaughey said.
