On Dec. 11, the Hillsboro Great Oaks FFA Chapter hosted the second annual “Highland County Hoedown.”

Thank you to Jeff and Marie Richmond for letting us hold our event at the Backroom Paradise, where we invited all Highland County chapters, including Mowrystown, Lynchburg-Clay, Fairfield and McClain, to join us in a fun evening of dancing, cornhole tournaments, card games and raffle baskets.

This was held to raise money for a chapter member's family. Big E.Z. BBQ generously catered the event freely by supplying BBQ pulled pork and macaroni and cheese, along with cookies and drinks.

It was a very enjoyable night for all the chapters and members who came. We hope everyone liked it as much as we did, and we hope this continues throughout the years.

Publisher's note: A free press is critical to having well-informed voters and citizens.
