Republican Vickie Warnock was re-elected to the Highland County Treasurer's seat in the general election Tuesday evening. Warnock will begin her second term on Jan. 2, 2013 as she defeated Democratic candidate Gary Heaton 10,109 to 6,252

In the Second Congressional District, Republican Brad Wenstrup defeated Pike County Democrat William Smith. In Highland County, Wenstrup defeated Smith 10,885 to 5,438.

On a good night for Republicans in Highland County, GOP incumbent Rep. Cliff Rosenberger was returned to the Statehouse, only this time in the new 91st District. Pence outdistanced Democratic challenger and Hillsboro County Councilman Peter Pence in Highland, Clinton and Pike counties.

Highland County commissioners Shane Wilkin and Tom Horst met with Tim Hamilton of Greystone Systems, Inc. Thursday evening at the county commissioners' office after a link to a political campaign advertisement was placed on the Highland County Board of Commissioners' public website. On Monday, the county said only two county employees had access to the site's user name and password.
