The Fairfield Lady Lions traveled to Peebles High School Thursday with first place in the Southern Hills League Division II on the line. The Peebles Lady Indians broke a 1-1 tie, with an unearned run, in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 2-1 win.

The Whiteoak Wildcats still control their own destiny for a chance at another Southern Hills League title. The route to the championship took a rocky turn Thursday as the Wildcats gained eight hits, but only scored three runs, in a 13-3, six inning road defeat to the Manchester Greyhounds.

Seven innings wasn't enough for the Whiteoak Wildcats and the Fairfield Lions to settle their Highland County and Southern Hills League feud.
