There wasn't enough sunlight in the day for the McClain Tigers and Hillsboro Indians to finish what they started Wednesday evening at Shaffer Park, in Hillsboro.
So as it stands, the Tigers and Indians, both of whom are fighting to get to the top spot in the South Central Ohio League, are tied at nine with the game headed into the 10th inning, with the game being suspended due to darkness.
Each team has two SCOL losses.
When the game resumes at a date and time to be set later, the Tigers will be at the plate, and Garrett Bell was the final pitcher to throw from the mound for the Tribe.
McClain held a 9-7 lead at the start of the bottom of the seventh, but it was Hillsboro who rallied in the final regulation inning to tie the game at the current 9-9 score.
Hillsboro began their rally with a base on balls issued to Paul Snyder. Patrick Garman followed with another forced walk. Both runners advanced to scoring position on passed balls, putting Snyder at third and Garman at second with no outs.
Logan Watson came up big at the plate with a two-run single to right field, scoring both runners and tying the game at nine.
Tyler Neville, who was McClain's third pitcher of the inning, came in a recorded three straight outs, with two ground outs and one line drive hit to second base.
Both teams had base runners in the eighth and ninth innings.
McClain led off the eighth with a lead-off double to left-center field by Jon Johnson. Zach Uhl reached first on an error, and both runners advanced a base with a passed ball. Bell then struck out the next two batters, and the third out was recorded with a play at the plate as Johnson was called out while charging into HHS catcher Brandon Wilson with his shoulder, not attempting a slide, as Wilson held onto the ball.
In the bottom of the eighth AJ Helterbrand led off with a single to center field, and with one out Airic Steagall forced a walk, but Nelville produced by forcing two fly balls, catching the third out himself.
In the ninth, Jimmy Barnett and Logan Wise reached the bases with two outs but were left stranded as Bell struck out three batters in the inning.
Hillsboro threatened in the bottom of the ninth as the sunlight began to give way to darkness with Watson's lead-off double.
Bell laid down a sacrifice bunt, advancing Watson to third. With two outs, Corey Walker forced a walk, but a close place first on a throw from third ended the inning, stranding Watson.

In the third, Johnson walked for the Tigers and scored on a double from Uhl.
MHS plated four runs in the top of the fourth to tie the game at seven.
Scoring for MHS were Barnett, Mullikin and Johnson.
In the fifth, MHS took the lead with Gregory hitting a double, followed with Caleb Cooper reaching on a fielder's choice, scoring Gregory.
