Council developing public perception survey
The zoning and annexation community of the Hillsboro City Council examined selling a portion of city property off Moore Road, while the community enhancement committee discussed conducting a survey regarding the perception of decisions being made by city officials during meetings held Tuesday.

Ohio asks to join Florida lawsuit challenging 'Obamacare'
Ohio is one of six states asking a federal court to join a lawsuit challenging the recent medical insurance bill passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama.

In addition to Ohio, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Wisconsin and Wyoming are seeking to join the litigation, bringing the number of states in the lawsuit to 26. 

Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine previously announced that he has authorized action seeking to add Ohio to the growing roster of states challenging the constitutionality of the recently enacted health care law.

Council members at odds over temporary sign ordinance

Holt: Balanced budget by February council meeting WATCH THE VIDEO
Hillsboro Safety and Service Director Ralph Holt confirmed to the finance committee of the Hillsboro City Council that the city will have a balanced budget by the February council meeting.
  The finance committee met Monday to discuss the 2011 budget. Last week Hillsboro Auditor Gary Lewis said that approximately $400,000 would need to be cut from the budget before March in order to balance the budget.
