An Adams County law enforcement officer is recovering from injuries sustained after two suspects attacked the officer in West Union.

Paul Mitchell Salon in Hillsboro is announcing a prom dress drive for local students in need of a prom dress. The salon is asking for donations of dresses to be dropped off at the salon, located at 103 South West St. in Hillsboro, between Feb. 22 and March 18 during hours of operation.

The Greenfield City Council has received a grant for $205,000, and a $205,000 no-interest loan to be applied toward a waterline extension project at North Street and North Eighth Street.
 Nathan Davis of the Rural Community Assistance Partnership addressed council in July regarding funding scenarios for the project. He gave them two funding situations, with various levels of repayment for the city.

Robert Dean "Bob" Hopkins, 73, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011 at Highland District Hospital.

Verna Mae Mullins, 73, of Midland, died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at the Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash.

Hillsboro City Schools Board of Education members Laura Bagshaw and Beverly Rhoads have been honored with awards by the Ohio School Board Association.
 Bagshaw is president of the HCS board of education, and Rhoads is a member, as well as a member of the Great Oaks ITCD school board.
