Southern State's PN pinning ceremony honors 17 graduates

The 42nd graduating class of Southern State Community College’s practical nursing program was honored during a special pinning ceremony held March 18 in the college’s Central Campus auditorium. Seventeen students were recognized for completion of the college’s one-year certificate program.
Open meeting for beef producers
Regardless if you produce beef in the traditional cow/calf operation, market or feed dairy steers, background beef calves, a feedlot, or cull cows from a beef or dairy operation, this meeting should be of some interest to you. The date is Monday, April 11 at Eastern Brown High School in the school cafeteria, starting at 7 p.m. This is a free program, and it is open to the public.

This political propaganda really didn’t bother me. It was sent on behalf of the Ohio Democratic Party, and that’s just the type of rhetoric I’ve come to expect from both major political parties. They’re much more focused on trite sound bites than actually solving the problems. Neither party has a corner on the trite – or tripe! – market. What does bother me, however, and what ought to bother a lot of taxpayers, is when a public, taxpayer-funded resource is used for similar political partisanship.

First responders organize Prom Promise mock disaster
As high school students across Highland County prepare for the dresses and limousines of prom night, law enforcement and first-responders are preparing a pre-prom message of life-saving safety.
  In a joint effort to bring awareness to the dangers of drug- and drunk-driving, Highland County DARE, county fire departments, the Highland County Sheriff's Office, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol will create a "Prom Promise" mock disaster April 14 at the Highland County Fairgrounds.
